PICOLAY is a free multimedia software by Heribert Cypionka. The non-commercial use z-stacking software is built for graphic designing series of pictures. Z-stacking utilizes multiple 2D color maps, 3D projections and even true stereo images. It only has a minimal footprint in any system. This software can produce an impressive image with 3D effects. It requires a series of images taken at varying focus levels with the same subject in order to project a 3D image with sharp areas. One of the advantages of the multimedia software is it optimizes every parameter of an image. Elements like size, colors and sharpness are emphasized with z-stacking.
