Pequeno Dicionário Houaiss is an Android application designed for students who want to learn the Portuguese language. Developed by Santillana Educação, this free educational tool provides access to over 32,000 entries of words and expressions, all written according to the new orthographic agreement. It includes new rules of accentuation, hyphenation, and spelling.

This app includes various features such as syllable separation, indication of tonic syllables, and their tone when closed. It also indicates irregular plurals, feminine forms, augmentative and diminutive forms, as well as the plurals of compound and foreign words. Additionally, it features technical and scientific vocabulary classified by areas with rubrics (biology, mathematics, religion, etc.). The app also provides current terms related to IT, internet, science, and technology, as well as information on grammar, sentence structure, parts of speech, crasis, punctuation, and verb conjugation models.

The app also recognizes misspelled words and suggests the correct spelling. It allows users to navigate from one entry to another by simply touching the desired entry. Lastly, it offers three font sizes for better visibility of the entries.
