Paw Paw Destiny features two distinct modes: the Story Mode, which presents a cinematic, narrative-driven experience, and Traveling Mode, a roguelite, randomly generated challenge. Players can enjoy elements of social deduction, nature exploration, and action-packed combat in the Exorcism stages, where they battle the manifestation of human weaknesses and ego, represented as sin-filled enemies. 

Character customization is deep, allowing players to personalize their avatars with over 100 different outfits, ensuring a vast range of possible identities for each adventure. However, its surreal narrative and complex themes can feel overly abstract or confusing for some players. At the same time, the randomly generated elements in Traveling Mode can lead to repetitive gameplay.
