Oxenfree is a supernatural adventure game that revolves around rites of passage and Senior year traditions. Set on Edwards Island, an old military outpost with no phone service, the game follows a group of friends sneaking off to an overnight party. Players assume the role of Alex, guiding her and her new stepbrother Jonas through a party that takes a dark turn. Inspired by iconic cult films such as Stand by Me and Poltergeist, Oxenfree offers an adventure that blends nostalgia with a contemporary twist.

"It's a coming of age story where players control how their hero comes of age," according to Sean Krankel, co-founder of Night School Studio. The game captures the essence of late teens, combining fond and mortifying experiences against a backdrop of danger and ghosts.
