OVSICORI-UNA Alerta Terremotos is a mobile app based in Costa Rica that receives notifications from the Sistema de Alerta Temprana de Terremotos (SATT) of OVSICORI. It evaluates if earthquakes can be felt at the user's location or Points of Interest and provides Early Warning alerts to allow users time to take protective actions. The app is effective within distances of 50 to 150 km, as closer distances do not provide enough time for alerts, and farther distances usually do not pose significant risks to warrant an alert.

Offered as a free service by the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, OVSICORI-UNA Alerta Terremotos complements the dissemination of earthquake information by OVSICORI. It is an entirely automated system that integrates multiple instruments and algorithms, making it prone to technical failures. The app provides three types of alerts: Red, Orange, and Green, each indicating the perceived intensity of the earthquake and the corresponding actions to take. Users can report their experiences during each event.
