Run local AI models on your Mac
Outmake is a Mac app that runs open AI models on the Mac itself, so a chat, a picture or a video can stay on the machine that made it. It lives in the notch and opens into a full window. It shows which models fit a Mac before anything is downloaded, makes and edits pictures and videos, listens and speaks, and works with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and OpenCode for people who use them. Outmake is free and needs no account. It is made by Ambedo Labs in Utah, and runs on macOS 26 or later with Apple silicon.
Models: download open models from Hugging Face and Civitai with one click. Each one is marked Runs great, Runs well or Too big for this Mac before you download it.
Chat: open models run with Metal. Speculative decoding took a code edit from 30.5 to 69.1 words a second on an M1 Pro with 16 GB.
Pictures and video: make and edit pictures and short videos, including community models and styles. Background removal in 0.33 s with Apple's Vision.
Voices: Qwen3-TTS and other voices speak in many languages. You can talk to it in 100+ languages.
Dictation: hold the right Option key and speak; the words are typed where your cursor is.
Bring your own plan: use Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini through the plan or key you have. Outmake adds no charge.
Native: 166,000 lines of Swift, no Electron. Lives in the notch, opens into a full window.
Free, no account, no ads.
