Outcast 1.1 is a futuristic game set in the distant future. A probe was sent to a distant world only to break down after its first transmission. It is the responsibility of the player to encounter its location and to repair it before returning to earth. Otherwise, the fate of humanity as a whole could very well be at stake.

Plot and Gameplay

Outcast 1.1 is actually a rebooted version of the classic game which was first released in 1999. While major improvements have been made, the plot and the goals all remain the same. There are numerous continents which need to be explored and each of these is populated by strange creatures. Some aliens are friendly while others are quite dangerous. Players can enjoy a very open two-dimensional atmosphere, so the sense of freedom offered by Outcast 1.1 is nearly unmatched.

Recent Improvements

In this newer version, developers have enhanced several features. Some of these include native support of Xbox controllers, improved stability and a more user-friendly configuration. The graphics have likewise been massively improved. High-definition graphics have helped to remove the blocky appearance of many shapes within the classic version. However, it is still possible to download the original Outcast to enjoy a truly retro experience.
