Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy is a dungeon crawler has you take the role of students at a special military academy. After assembling your party of cadets, you descend into a quasi-cyberpunk labyrinth and fight monsters, known as Variants, while managing your party's resources and growing stronger. Like in Dungeons & Dragons, you have a certain number of spells of each level, and can cast spells of that level a certain number of times, forcing you to conserve your spells carefully. Both sides of the game are juxtaposed by a story that is weak and poorly translated.
