Norton Cleaner: Phone Cleanup is a freemium utility app that helps manage iPhone or iPad storage, media, and contacts. The app combines cleanup tools with privacy features to safeguard your personal files. It targets everyday digital clutter like duplicate photos, stray screenshots, large videos, and bloated contact lists that accumulate over time.

Instead of bulk deletions, Norton Cleaner: Phone Cleanup lets you review categorized content to decide whether to compress, delete, or keep specific files. This approach makes routine maintenance fast and manageable without risking important memories. Basic functions are free, while advanced features require a paid subscription.

Media cleanup and storage optimization

Norton Cleaner: Phone Cleanup is primarily designed to help you reclaim storage from photos and videos. It scans your media library and identifies files worth reviewing, including large videos, screenshots, duplicate photos, similar images, and poor-quality shots. Instead of searching through the gallery manually, you can work through these categories separately. This keeps the cleanup focused on items eating up the most storage.

For hands-on decluttering, the app offers a couple of ways to sort through your files. Its standard Media Cleaner clusters similar or unwanted images together for targeted deletion. If you prefer a faster workflow, Swipe Clean breaks your library down by trips, months, or image sets—allowing you to swipe through items individually to keep or toss them on the fly.

For files that you want to keep, the Photo & Video Optimizer provides a practical alternative. It shrinks file sizes through compression without noticeable hits to visual quality. This preserves your original content while freeing up space. As a result, the app gives you flexibility to reclaim space: delete what you no longer need, or reduce the size of those you want to keep.

Privacy, contacts, and plans

Beyond media management, Contact Cleaner scans your address book for duplicate and incomplete entries. You can merge or delete these contacts safely while keeping a backup for easy recovery. For added privacy, Secret Files locks sensitive photos and videos inside an encrypted folder. Meanwhile, Clean Share strips location coordinates and timestamp metadata from your media before you post or send it online.

The app comes in three main options: Free, Norton Cleaner iOS, and Norton Utilities Ultimate. The free version handles routine maintenance smoothly enough. It lets you clear out old photos, oversized files, and stray screenshots, plus store up to 10 media items in Secret Files. However, for deeper cleanup like detecting duplicates or blurry shots, an upgrade may be required. You can choose a standalone mobile plan via Norton Cleaner iOS or opt for Norton Utilities Ultimate to unlock premium access across all your devices.

Practical and flexible cleanup option

Overall, Norton Cleaner: Phone Cleanup is a practical tool that simplifies mobile storage management. Its core strength lies in giving you control: rather than blindly deleting files, it organizes media and contacts so you can decide what to keep, compress, or discard. While the free tier is sufficient for basic decluttering, power users dealing with heavy duplicate photos or seeking privacy controls like Secret Files will eventually need to upgrade.
