nightbloom is a free realistic text adventure developed by aerialshading. As the protagonist, your job is to explore an abandoned colony effort on a distant planet. The game takes inspiration from Level 9 Computing video games but has included several new features to meet modern gaming standards. As a contemporary homage to retro games, you will have the same experience of playing on a classic gaming console with the convenience of playing on a PC. 

8-bit style adventure game 

nightbloom is a science fiction game that mimics several retro gaming consoles by capturing the appearance and mechanics of 8-bit graphics text adventure games. Fortunately, the game can be played on your computer, which will allow ease of use for all players. The game only requires a single gamer to play at once, and presents everything from a first-person point of view. 

On your screen is the server that presents text. It’s important to read these logs as it is the key to knowing the events in the game. You command the server through the Parser Logic system. This means it only follows commands that consist of two words. Engaging with a major non-playable character with the plot will require you to not only talk to them but to also carefully think about the correct combination of words. 

Without the right command, you will receive a generic parser error message such as "That wouldn’t help you much"—or you could accidentally trigger a command. It’s much like trying to solve a puzzle; the story of this game doesn't have an in-depth lore, but it is enough to motivate you to finish it. The puzzles typically want you to discover all the possibilities of the game via trial and error.
