Experience climbing adventures across Europe

New Heights: Realistic Climbing and Bouldering is a simulation game developed and published by Wikkl Works that aims to replicate the real-life experience of climbing on rocks and boulders. It features advanced physics mechanics, making climbing feel lifelike and forcing you to plan your movements while maintaining balance and grip.

New Heights: Realistic Climbing and Bouldering offers more than 280 routes based on real-world European locations, like Fontainebleau and Freÿr in Belgium, that players can attempt to climb. Each location is carefully recreated and offers its own unique challenges and terrain. It’s an immersive climbing experience that tests your patience.

Demonstrate your rock climbing skills

New Heights: Realistic Climbing and Bouldering’s physics-based climbing system is a standout feature of the game. Instead of simply clicking on another ledge to climb, players have to shift their hips, check their grip, and balance their body position to climb up safely. Little mistakes, such as poor balancing or unstable positioning, often lead to slips and falls. Due to its realistic approach, the gameplay, however, feels slow at times.

The locations are well-designed and recreated as closely as possible to their real-world counterparts, offering a strong sense of immersion throughout the climbing journey. Additionally, players get the opportunity to create their own locations using the custom Unity-based workshop tool, where they can also set the routes and even import any 3D model into the game. Once they’re happy with their own design, they can share it with other players online.

There is a leaderboard system in the game, allowing you to compete with friends and people all over the world for the fastest climbing times. Players who dare test their mettle and compete with the best of the best should know that the gameplay has a steep learning curve, and it takes a while to play at a comfortable level.

An authentic climbing experience

Overall, New Heights: Realistic Climbing and Bouldering is one of the most authentic simulation games to date because of its physics-driven climbing mechanics and rich environmental designs. While it can feel calm and relaxing at times, the challenge it presents is often demanding and even frustrating. What may seem simple at first quickly proves otherwise, as players must carefully manage body positioning, grip, and balance to successfully scale each route.
