New Frontier9 is a single-player side-scrolling delivery shooter designed for Windows, where players manage a freighter on a perilous journey across seven remote stops. The game emphasizes strategic planning, requiring players to scout sectors, manage cargo, and navigate hazards while ensuring the safety of their ship. Each run begins with reconnaissance, allowing players to identify dangers and decide how to load their ship with cargo, passengers, and ammunition while balancing fuel needs and potential payouts.

As players progress, they face increasingly difficult contracts, with each delivery affecting the freighter's condition and future options. The side-scrolling gameplay features various obstacles, including hostile crafts and environmental hazards, demanding careful fuel and ammunition management. Success depends on the player's ability to make informed decisions, as each choice impacts the journey's outcome and the overall integrity of the cargo delivered.
