Neptunia GameMaker R:Evolution is a premium RPG from Idea Factory that immerses players in the exciting realm of game development. It follows the story of Older Neptune, whose mission is to revive a fallen game creator with the assistance of three vanquished goddesses. Aside from resurrecting the dying game maker, they are also tasked to rebuild and manage a gaming company.

Set in a war between factions of game creators, Neptunia GameMaker R:Evolution brings a new twist to the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise by introducing new features and mechanics that will deepen the plot and enhance the battle system.

In Neptunia GameMaker R:Evolution, players take part in reviving a struggling gaming studio and guide it toward success. This task is no easy feat, as it demands strategic decision-making, which involves selecting skilled developers, crafting innovative game designs, and exploring new market opportunities. The outcome of their choices will ultimately decide whether the game studio flourishes the “Game Studio of the Year” or fizzles out. 

In addition to its party management features, the game also incorporates dungeon exploration, requiring players to defeat monsters in order to unlock new elements that enhance their party's abilities. To traverse the dungeons quickly and sell their games, players can make use of a high-speed motorcycle. The shares in each location increase as players explore more dungeons and discover additional game elements.

The enhanced battle system now accommodates a four-person party, allowing for more intricate tactics during combat. To inject a sense of originality and individuality into the game, the Heartful Photo mode has been incorporated, enabling players to express themselves through artistic manga-inspired creations. Furthermore, players can enjoy the game in two language options: English and Japanese voice-overs, accompanied by English subtitles.
