NearMe: Share Location is an innovative map utility application designed specifically for Android users, focusing on secure and consensual location sharing. The app allows users to view real-time locations of their circle members while providing a variety of useful map tools. Features include a traffic layer for real-time traffic updates, distance measurement between points, and access to subway maps for various cities. The app also facilitates nearby searches for restaurants and public facilities, enhancing the navigation experience.

Privacy is a key aspect of NearMe, as it requires explicit user consent to share locations. Users must scan a unique invitation code to join a circle, ensuring that sharing is strictly opt-in. The app includes a dedicated toggle switch for location sharing, which can be enabled or disabled at any time. Additionally, users receive notifications when circle members enter or exit custom geofenced areas, and a persistent notification keeps them informed when sharing is active, promoting transparency and safety.
