Name That Note is a note spelling quiz that helps improve reading of music in a fun and engaging way. Whether you're a beginner or a music virtuoso, this app offers a challenge at any level.

Similar to learning the individual letters of the alphabet, Name That Note helps you learn the note names on a staff. You can select from treble, bass, or both clefs to practice.

The app offers three levels of difficulty. In the beginner level, you answer 10 questions with 6 seconds allowed per question. Note positions are restricted to 1 ledger line above and below the staff, and there are no accidentals or key signatures.

In the intermediate level, you answer 20 questions with 3 seconds allowed per question. Note positions are restricted to 2 ledger lines above and below the staff, and accidentals are introduced without key signatures.

For a more advanced challenge, the advanced level requires you to answer 30 questions with 2 seconds allowed per question. Note positions can extend as far as 4 ledger spaces on either side of the staff, and key signatures are introduced to test your note reading skills.

Name That Note uses a flashcard-style display, presenting the question along with four answers to choose from. After selecting an answer or when the time limit runs out, the correct answer is briefly displayed before moving on to the next question. Once all questions are answered, a total score is given.

For those who prefer a slower pace, the timer can be turned off to enable practice mode. Continuous mode is also available for a never-ending challenge. In continuous mode, the game goes on indefinitely until an incorrect answer is given, and a score is given for the total number of questions answered consecutively.
