MyPrivateSearch is a Chrome browser extension that provides users with a private search engine experience. With this extension, you can easily access the MyPrivateSearch engine without worrying about your online activities being tracked or targeted by ads. Unlike other search engines, MyPrivateSearch does not store or share your personal information with advertisers.

When using the extension, you can search directly from your browser's address bar or from the extension's UI. While you may still see ads in your search results, they are not targeted based on your personal information. MyPrivateSearch respects your privacy and ensures that your internet footprint is not followed or used for advertising purposes.

The extension requires certain permissions to enhance its functionality. It requests access to "contextMenus" to add items to the drop-down menu of the extension's action icon, improving the user experience. Additionally, it requires access to "webRequest," "webRequestBlocking," and "webNavigation" to change your default search engine to MyPrivateSearch. The permission to access "" is necessary to check the default search engine of the user.

If you ever decide to remove the MyPrivateSearch extension, simply go to the "Settings" in Chrome, navigate to the "Extensions" tab, and click on "remove" next to the extension. Alternatively, you can right-click on the extension's icon in your browser and select "Uninstall" from the drop-down menu.
