Mutant Football League 2 is a sports game that puts a spin on American football. In this game from Digital Dreams Entertainment, you control your own team of mutants as you pass the pigskin, make your way across field hazards, and engage in brawls with the opposing team. 

Aside from the barbaric take on football, Mutant Football League 2 also features good amounts of crude and dark humor. It still covers gridiron's technical and strategic aspects, similar to Madden NFL 22 but with a twist. Both the graphic depictions of violence and certain references make it unsuitable for younger players.

Lead your mutant footballers to victory

Like standard American football, the goal in Mutant Football League 2 is to score points, whether by bringing the ball to the opposing team’s end zone or by kicking it through their goalpost. In this game, however, players are mutants and monsters of varying sizes fighting in 8-on-8 matches. You have scrawny skeletons and massive orc-like creatures, referencing and parodying real-world athletes.

Content-wise, you have 32 Pro League teams that parody real teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and the Karcass City Creeps. There are also 16 minor league teams, plus the option to build your very own MFL team. The field is also made more engaging with hazards such as moving razor blades and flamethrowers. Also, you can further customize individual players with skins and armor sets reflective of their levels.

As the player, you still choose strategies and plans for the AI-controlled characters to execute. Another interesting feature here is an arsenal of normally illegal plays, called Dirty Tricks. Bribe the ref, throw a bomb, or shoot guns at enemy players. The only catch in this game is that the gameplay, dialogue and references, and the visual depictions of violence make it unsuitable for younger players.
