This application was developed for use by amateur radio operators in order to assist them in making accurate and reliable predictions of radio propagation.

A prediction is made for a given location by using the latest available data, such as the latest reports from the Global Mobile Data System (GMD) of the USA or the Global Network Database (GND) of the UK. 

The application is based on MicroMUF, a calculation algorithm developed in 1984 by Ray Fricker from the BBC's External Service. 

The algorithm uses a combination of several different factors to determine the most accurate estimate of the radio propagation for the given location. These include the geographical location of the station, the type of the station (e.g. mobile, fixed, amateur), the frequency of the station, the type of the radio (e. amateur, fixed, professional), the distance between the station and the location, and the amount of interference from other stations.
