When you open MP3 Music Download, you can use the search function to find the songs you want to download. For each indexed result, you get the artist name, song title, length and bit rate.

After choosing the file you want to download, you can:

• Listen to a streamed preview of the song


• Share the song by email or on social networks like Facebook and Twitter


• Download the MP3 files to your device (with the ability to edit the ID3 tag)


• Get the ringtone of your chosen track (using the 'Get Ringtone' [ad] button).

: If you choose to use this function, the app will redirect you to a web page that requires you to sign up to an expensive SMS subscription. We do not recommend this as to avoid unwanted charges.

MP3 Music Download includes the ability to browse your music gallery, play the downloaded songs through a small built-in audio player, and access current hit charts divided by location (e.g. American, English or Asian countries).

The app also offers a ringtone section in which you can search and download free ringtones for your mobile phone (this feature is free and should not be confused with the paid-for one on the web service we mentioned earlier).

Interestingly, MP3 Music Download also includes a section dedicated to various types of wallpaper. You can browse the gallery and select a set of images to feature as a background on your smartphone.

Improved usability

The main screen of MP3 Music Download provides direct access to all the features of the app: search, charts, downloads, library, player, ringtones and wallpapers. Within the individual categories, however, usability could be improved.

Fast downloads with an improved design

During our tests, we were able to download MP3s without any issues, but the download speed can be affected by the quality of your connection.

The built-in player for playing MP3s is rather basic and lacks any advanced features. Similarly, the design of the app could be improved: it’s a bit amateur, dark and not very modern.

Free wallpaper and music, but take care to avoid suspicious subscriptions

MP3 Music Download allows you to stream music or download it to your Android device. It also allows you to download ringtones and wallpapers. The app functions well despite the poor design and usability, which could be improved.

The presence of ads is quite intrusive, but what’s most annoying is the Get Ringtone[ad] button that performs the redirect to the paid-for online service for creating custom ringtones. All that’s needed is a little common sense to avoid the hassle this could cause.
