Moss: The Forgotten Relic is a puzzle platformer developed by Polyarc and Blackbird Interactive and published by Polyarc for various platforms. In this action-adventure title, you must guide a tiny hero and embark with her on an emotional journey of challenge, courage, and connection.

Embark on a heartfelt journey 

Moss: The Forgotten Relic brings together the critically acclaimed VR games Moss and Moss: Book II in a single package, adapting them for play on traditional flat-screen devices. This lets a wider range of players embark on a journey with Quill, a mouse in need of protection, and guide her through a mythical landscape of ancient ruins gradually being overtaken by nature. 

This world, although vibrant and beautiful, is full of mystery and danger. Monsters freely roam this magical world, and combat encounters against arcane forces are bound to happen one way or another.  So, it must be navigated with caution. There are also hidden secrets and surprises that can be uncovered along the journey through these handcrafted, diorama-like environments. An orchestral soundtrack by acclaimed composer Jason Graves accompanies this adventure. 

This title boasts new features that set it apart from the two separate games it is based on. It delivers enhanced visuals and performance and offers new handcrafted cutscenes. In addition, it now has a “smart follow camera” feature and a “skip combat” option. The complete Twilight Garden expansion is included as well. However, it suffers from a couple of drawbacks, including clunky and slow combat, framerate issues, and unskippable cutscenes.

Moss: The Forgotten Relic successfully reimagines two beloved VR adventures for traditional screens without losing their charm. The captivating world, emotional storytelling, polished presentation, and thoughtful gameplay improvements create a memorable experience for both newcomers and returning fans. Although occasional performance issues, clunky combat, and unskippable cutscenes might affect the experience, the game remains a rewarding journey filled with exploration, wonder, and heartfelt moments.
