MJALi, an Android-based mobile platform, is an innovative solution developed by Amref Health Africa to improve the management of community health information. The platform incorporates a mobile application that enables community health workers (CHWs) to capture data from households and transmit it online to a web-based database. Through this platform, CHWs have been able to reduce the turnaround time for transmitting data from several weeks to a few minutes.

The platform is designed to support the Community Health Strategy (CHS) in Kenya, which aims to enhance community access to healthcare and promote dignified livelihoods throughout the country. The CHS makes use of CHWs who are equipped with the necessary training, capacity, and tools to spearhead health promotion and awareness activities at the household level. As part of the CHS, a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation (M&E) approach is outlined to ensure that activities are on track towards goals and objectives, and to support decision-making.
