The misskey-share-button-for-youtube is a Chrome extension developed by king_of_emotion that adds a share button to the YouTube share menu for easy sharing to the misskey platform. Previously, users had to manually copy the video link and share it on misskey using other social media buttons. This extension aims to simplify the process by adding a dedicated share button directly on YouTube.

One of the challenges of implementing sharing functionality to decentralized social networking services like misskey is that it is difficult for various platforms to integrate directly. This extension solves this problem by allowing users to share to their desired server using their own Chrome browser extension.

The extension is compatible with the YouTube homepage, watch page, trending page, search results page, and YouTube Studio.

Update: Versionhas been released, adding support for sharing on the playlist page and fixing issues related to generating share posts when the URL contains characters that are not allowed in the query.
