Developed by Metacore Games Oy, this game features a tile match-merging mechanic that lets you create new objects to use on certain tasks. This can be a breath of fresh air from most match-3 games but the long item-spawning time and limited inventory space can be annoying to deal with.

In Merge Mansion - The Mansion Full of Mysteries, you play as Maddie—a spunky young woman who has been called over by her secretive grandmother for the reveal of a long-standing mystery in her home. Maddie’s finally been allowed to check out what lies beyond her grandma’s garden wall and she’s shocked to find a decrepit old mansion. The story is easy to follow but it constantly leaves you at cliffhangers like most match-3 games.

This game looks like a tile-matching game but you’re not required to clear levels since there’s none. Instead, you match tools and items to merge them into better ones that you can use to fix the mansion and progress the story. The higher their level, the more base materials you need. Unfortunately, it’s easy to lose space on the board due to locked items you either have to pay for or unlock by merging items next to them.

Not only that but you can’t easily upgrade for more inventory space and the price to unlock certain objects are quite expensive. The tutorial guides you well enough on how the gameplay works but it doesn’t inform you of the limited space, so you may accidentally get carried away and fill up all slots with useless items. The cooldown for the item spawners can take far too long and they don’t show you how long they’ll take.

A unique challenge

All in all, Merge Mansion - The Mansion Full of Mysteries is a great casual game to try out for any puzzle fans who like the challenge of conserving limited inventory space while trying to unlock more items. However, this limit to item space can be frustrating most of the time since you have limited currency to unlock some items on the grid and you have to wait a long time for the spawners.
