Media Credit is a free WordPress plugin that enhances the media uploading experience by allowing users to properly credit artists. When media is uploaded or edited, a new field is added to input credit details, which can be linked to blog users or customized text. This ensures that all media displayed on the blog includes proper attribution, enhancing transparency and respect for creators.

The plugin also introduces a shortcode, [media-credit], which wraps around media elements, displaying the credit information below images with a default styling that can be customized. Additionally, users can manage options under the Media settings, including separators and organization names for credits. This functionality enables seamless integration of media credits into posts, ensuring that credit is given where it is due.
