It is an initiative by the Human Resources & Development Mission of the government of India and is aimed to help the students who are from the weaker section of the society.

The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the meritorious students, to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies or preparation for job.
