めぶくID is an app that allows anyone to apply for and manage a versatile digital ID called "めぶくID". To apply, users will need their My Number card and a password that has been set up beforehand.

With めぶくID, users can utilize their digital ID through a smartphone app for various services. It can be used to verify the user's identity and intention in scenarios such as making online banking transfers, electronically signing important documents, making payments at stores, accessing entry systems that utilize facial recognition, and logging into services.

To apply for めぶくID, users can use their My Number card through this app for identity verification and issuance of the digital ID. Please note that the issuance process may require some time for identity verification.

During the application process for めぶくID, users will also be registered for two services: "my Electronic Certificate" and "my Authentication".

• my Electronic Certificate:

Provided through certified authentication services under the Electronic Signature and Certification Business Act, my Electronic Certificate issues electronic certificates for generating valid electronic signatures used in online transactions with financial institutions, electronic contracts, and identity verification. Users will need to set a 6 to 16-character alphanumeric password for usage.

• my Authentication:

Provides a centralized login platform for various services. It issues electronic certificates for service logins using electronic signatures (different from my Electronic Certificate) and allows service logins through biometric authentication, which requires taking and registering a facial photo. Users will need to set a 4-digit PIN for usage.
