Massive Chalice is a fantasy turn-based tactical game developed by Double Fine Productions and available on Xbox One. The player takes on the role of an immortal leader in a fantasy kingdom, tasked with holding on until the magic artifact called Massive Chalice reaches full power. The Chalice has two souls that serve as the player's advisers in the fight against the dark power called Cadence that repeatedly attacks the kingdom, corrupting everything it touches.

In the Strategy mode, the player rules the kingdom using the world map, while in the Tactical mode, the player directly controls the units. The heroes are disposable as they eventually die of old age, so the player has to breed new heroes and build dynasties by arranging marriages. There are three main classes of heroes: Caberjacks (heavy warriors), Hunters (ranged archers), and Alchemists (similar to wizards), each with various skills and attributes. The heroes can inherit artifacts that become stronger after being used by generations of ancestors. The game offers unusual attacks from the Cadence monsters that oppose the heroes, such as stealing XP points or aging the character.
