Manicos Haunted Hotel is a horror survival game created and published by indie developer Anamik Majumdar for PC. In this adventure, players take over the role of a paranormal enthusiast named Colton to investigate the strange phenomena happening in the Manicos Hotel, an old burial ground during the 1950s.  

Playable from a top-down perspective and illustrated in classic 2D-pixel graphics, Manicos Haunted Hotel offers an engaging and thrilling playthrough that sends a chilling feeling down the players’ spines but with an added nostalgic feel. This retro-style title uses walking sim mechanics and explores gore and dark themes. 

Uncover the mystery 

The narrative of Manicos Haunted Hotel follows the paranormal expert Colton, a friend of the hotel owner tasked to uncover the mysterious happenings in the establishment. This whole thing stems from the story that Manicos was built on an old burial ground in the 1950s and experienced a tragic incident in the 1980s, making it the perfect place for spirits to linger. 

Rumor has it that a man took his own life by shooting himself in the head inside one of the rooms on the third floor, while a woman in the 1990s was stabbed by his husband multiple times, resulting in her demise. For some reason, however, the strange phenomena seem to have gotten increasingly worse, prompting the hotel to lose clientele. 

As Colton, you must uncover the mystery behind all this by exploring the establishment’s halls and the spirits’ domain. Be careful, though. Traps are everywhere. Avoid these obstacles while collecting essential items in the investigation, including keys, a baseball bat, Golden Rings, and more. However, aside from the game's depiction of blood and gore, it offers a short playthrough that averages around 30 minutes.
