Maholla is a free shopping application for mobile and is a rewards platform that was created for consumers in South Africa. With it, shoppers can earn points by scanning their purchase receipts from participating partner stores and establishments. They can then exchange them for vouchers and various other perks available.

Similar to Cash Bazar or EarnPe, getting started with Maholla is easy with its simple registration process that lets users scan and earn right after. They can browse through a list of partner stores to see how many points they can earn for their purchases straight from the app.

Scan and earn

There is no shortage of rewards applications today that let you earn all kinds of perks and bonuses. They all mostly operate under the same premise which revolves around completing tasks by following easy instructions. Maholla is a platform that pretty much works under the same premise, but it might just be one of the simpler implementations available right now.

After the quick registration process, you can start using the app by scanning a receipt of your purchase, waiting for the photo to get uploaded in the app, and earning points depending on the value of the items listed. It's that simple. It covers all kinds of products and services from various stores, and the list is constantly growing to add more brand partners.

Once you have enough, exchange your points for vouchers for Airtime, 1Voucher, Takealot, and other platforms. Now, before getting started, just be aware that the program is still in Early Access, hence not everyone will get in. Also, the app itself is in the Beta stages of development, so there are still some bugs to work out and more features to be added in future updates.

Pretty compelling

To conclude, Maholla provides a simple way for shoppers in South Africa to earn rewards just by scanning their purchase receipts. It covers all kinds of products and services, and the number of supported partner brands is continually growing. As mentioned, though, not everyone can use it yet and the app is still being worked on. Nevertheless, this is a platform worth checking out.
