A Classic Game Reborn

Mahjong 3 covers all the basics. Like all Majhong games, the aim is pair up matching exposed tiles so that you can clear them from the board. Ultimately you want to clear the whole board, but it's not as easy as it looks. Mahjong 3 adds some flavour with a number of different backgrounds, towers, tile sets, and modes. The tilesets and backgrounds are purely a visual thing, of course, but it's nice to have those options. And with some game modes being time critical, it helps to pick the tileset in which you can most easily distinguish the different tiles The towers and game modes impact your play more significantly, with some towers being considerably more difficult to clear than others. Assists are available in the form of highlighting available pairs (if you choose to) and a tile shuffle for when you run out of available pairs to match up.

Good But Not New

Mahjong 3 does everything you'd want from a Mahjong game, and does it well enough. It doesn't really do anything to distinguish from other Mahjong games, however. And the UI is a uninspiring.
