Mad Raid is a free-to-play adventure experience from Passion Punch LTD. This is a fantasy role-playing experience that puts you in a unique world of hunts. Create your own digital avatar and step into different arenas to fight monsters and other players. Gain experience points, earn in-game money, and become stronger.

Featuring cute miniaturized graphics, vivid colors, and a lot of in-game content to enjoy, Mad Raid is a fun experience with a sense of progression. However, its focus on in-app microtransactions make it unfair for full free-to-play enjoyers. It’s like a crossover between Brawl Stars and Monster Hunter Stories.

Be the best monster hunter

The first thing to note about Mad Raid is its graphics. It takes the less serious route and adopts a miniaturized design approach, making characters and monsters appear less threatening and more distinguishable as you play. This is accompanied by equally interesting sound effects that give the impression that it’s a fun and casual game. Be warned though, its difficulty scaling grows rapidly, even more so in multiplayer games.

Fans of simple and straightforward games will also appreciate this one, since it mostly revolves around hunting monsters. You step into one of its numerous themed worlds and hunt mobs until you reach the boss. There are also game modes that pits you against other human and computer-controlled players. Aside from leveling up, you also unlock new heroes as you go along, unlocking new skills and gameplay possibilities with them.

However, like most mobile games, this one also features its fair share of ads. They appear regularly, but are mostly skippable after a few seconds. A more pressing issue with the game is its gameplay that leans toward microtransactions. Grinding heroes and content can feel unnecessary long when you can just buy them in the app. This also creates an unfair advantage against free players.

A fun game that need balancing

While it’s understandable that developers need to turn profit, Mad Raid could be better enjoyed by the community once it balances gameplay for paying and free patrons. The game itself is already enjoyable, with its unique visual treatment that goes well with its fun sound effects and straightforward gameplay premise. It is easy to learn and gets increasingly challenging, keeping it engaging for longer. Recommended.
