M3u8 Player is a versatile multimedia application designed for Android devices, specializing in the playback of .m3u8 files, which adhere to the M3U8 protocol, including those used in IPTV systems. The app allows users to play these files with essential features such as background playback and a small window mode, which requires specific permissions to function effectively. Users can also easily manage their viewing history and create a 'watch later' list for .m3u8 files, enhancing the overall user experience.

In addition to playback, M3u8 Player offers robust editing capabilities, allowing users to modify .m3u8 files directly and play individual links during the editing process. The app also supports converting .m3u8 files into .mp4 format, providing flexibility in file management. For optimal performance, particularly on devices running Android 10 or higher, users must grant the MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission to access local indexed files.
