Lost in the Roots Playtest is a premium adventure game developed by Trioskaz. It is an atmospheric 2D adventure game, blending psychological thriller elements with themes of guilt, fear, and redemption. Currently available through a limited playtest, it allows you to experience the haunting narrative and puzzle-driven exploration ahead of its full release.

The beginning of Jacob’s story

The story centers around a young girl who finds herself waking up in a stranger’s attic, isolated and disoriented in the middle of nowhere—her captor and motives unknown, and escape seemingly an illusion. Lost in the Roots invites you to uncover the tragic backstory of Yakob, a man haunted by his past. 

This playtest offers a glimpse into the game’s opening act, featuring Jacob’s tragic backstory, Trisha’s unsettling first days in captivity, and a tense third-day climax, while immersing players in eerie environments, atmospheric puzzles, and the haunting presence of the living Forest that twists memory and reality.
