It's a ride-sharing platform that lets users rent out electric scooters (e-scooters) for personal transportation. It's an alternative to traditional bikes with the convenience of being powered by electric motors.

Operating on the same premise as Bird, Loop - Dreams On Wheels aims to offer travelers a cleaner alternative mode of transport that is all-electric, helping reduce carbon waste. It's also the first service of its kind that is being offered in the city of Doha, Qatar, pioneering the way for the green initiative.

Early adopters

Electric vehicles are still not that accessible to everyone due to various factors. That doesn't mean the technology can't be utilized in other ways, though, and this is where e-bikes and e-scooters come into play. The latter, in particular, has been appearing on the road more often these days. In comes Loop - Dreams On Wheels, a ride-sharing service dedicated to these handy portable transport machines.

In this transportation app, instead of cars, you will be able to rent out e-scooters to get around the city, and it's the first of its kind operating in Doha, Qatar. To start, open the app and look for a "Loop" near you. Once located, scan the scooter and type in the code to unlock it. Wear your helmet, and off you go.

When you've arrived at your destination, be sure to park it properly at a safe and appropriate location to end your ride. Now, there are some concerns that need to be addressed, and they have to do with the condition of the machines. There have been multiple reports of poorly-maintained and dysfunctional units, with some having broken lights, and worse, having no charge left.

Some growing pains

Overall, Loop - Dreams On Wheels is off to a rocky start, but its intentions are no less admirable. Pushing for cleaner forms of transportation is the way to go and hopefully, more people adopt it.
