MX Nitro - Unleashed
MX Nitro's enhanced gameplay
Tranquil rides down the hill
Unlike in high-stakes racing games wherein players feed off of adrenaline and the desire to finish first, Lonely Mountains: Downhill offers a more languid bike-driving experience. When you play this therapeutic title, you’ll forget about beating other players and race rankings — all you’ll have is your bike and the unspoiled nature view that surrounds you.
Developed by Megagon Industries, Lonely Mountains: Downhill effortlessly combines the thrill of a tricky route’s twists and turns with a rather meditative soundtrack and scenery. You can take your time taking in nature or cruise down the path to set a record time.
In Lonely Mountains: Downhill, the main objective is to guide your biker avatar down the hill, avoiding crashing into rocks or trees and activating checkpoints as you go. There are different trails to explore and challenges to fulfill, too, encouraging great replayability and keeping you hooked. Some challenges will reward you with pieces of outfits or new trails when they’re successfully completed.
Each trail starts off calm and steady, allowing you to gain your footing and get ahold of the controls. Turns get steeper and obstacles appear more frequently the further you go, though activating checkpoints is a saving grace since you won’t have to start from the beginning should you crash. The building excitement is accompanied by relaxing elements of nature and gentle background music.
For better and smoother gameplay, it’s advisable for players to play it with a controller. There’s a rather steep learning curve to beat in the beginning since the controls are tricky, but with a bit of patience and perseverance, players will surely overcome that. There are also notable performance issues that cause bikes to crash prematurely or make the game jump.
In a nutshell, Lonely Mountains: Downhill removes the competition-induced adrenaline from a bike-riding simulator and replaces it with the thrill caused by having to navigate tight turns and close saves. Controls will seem complex at first, but they’re nothing practice can’t overcome. There are various trails to unlock and challenges that reward players with valuable stuff when completed. All in all, it’s highly recommended if you want a relaxing time.
