Live Hard, Die Hard throws you into a grim near-future where Earth faces an alien invasion big enough to threaten humanity’s survival. As commander of an elite special-forces unit, you’re responsible for forging, training, and leading a squad over a tense four-week timeline before mounting a final assault on the alien “Terminal Core.” 

Strategize Earth’s last stand 

Live Hard, Die Hard cycles between two distinct phases: between Base Management Phase, where you manage resources, heal soldiers, recruit members, research upgrades, and prepare for expeditions; and an Expedition/Combat Phase, where you dispatch your squad into real-time tactical battles against alien invaders. Combat itself is largely automated as your soldiers advance on their own with the help of player command. 

This strategy game is a hybrid between squad-management sim, part real-time RTS, with touches of resource management and RPG-style progression. Each soldier can be customized with Branch Skills, Body Mods, Genomes. This depth gives it a strategic weight. Long-term success depends not just on winning fights, but on resource planning, personnel rotation, and anticipating when to strike. However, it lacks polish.

Live Hard, Die Hard delivers a tense, strategic experience that blends base management, squad progression, and semi-automated real-time combat into a demanding four-week race for survival. Its hybrid structure rewards careful planning as much as battlefield decisions, pushing players to balance resources, soldier upgrades, and mission risks. Though it suffers from a lack of polish, its depth, pressure-driven timeline, and layered systems make it a compelling strategy challenge.
