Liminal Memory is a free adventure game where you will need to navigate your surroundings in an attempt to recover your lost memories. In this first-person walking simulator, you’ll have to interact with different items to piece together what may have happened to you and what your identity is.

Similar to Just More Doors, there are different levels or areas to roam around in Liminal Memory. These locations have their own challenges and mini-puzzles for you to solve in order to unlock specific moments from your past. Your choices affect the outcome of the story so choose wisely.

Multiple endings with creepy visuals

With a VHS-like look and the use of liminal space, Liminal Memory creates an immersive atmosphere that chills you to the bone. The game’s soundtrack further adds to the creepy feel. In addition to this, the game features a unique storyline with three possible endings. Each choice you make within the game will ultimately affect how the story plays out.

New players will have no trouble learning how to navigate the game either. The controls are quite simple and you’ll even be able to view a short guide at the beginning to help you learn the ropes. Do take note, however, that the screenshot feature makes use of a bright, white light when capturing the photo. This can cause eye strain so it’s best to lower your device’s brightness beforehand.

There is also a known issue where the program will only display a blank screen when opening the file. One way to troubleshoot this is by uninstalling the game and redownloading the ZIP file. Another recurring problem is that the dialogue can sometimes overlap. This makes it difficult to read the text and is quite frustrating when the passage contains plot-relevant information.

Can be even greater with some polishing

While Liminal Memory has some bugs that need to be fixed, especially when it comes to the blank screen and overlapping text, there are still many features that make it a worthwhile game to play. Alongside the retro-like visuals and atmospheric background music, this horror title features a number of vastly different endings for you to discover on your own.
