Lemnis Gate is a turn-based multiplayer combat strategy game where you will go against other space operatives and discover who is the best player on the battlefield. The game is developed by Ratloop Games Canada, and this is their second title in the market, with Vroom Kaboom being the first.

Essentially, in each game, you play five 25-second rounds, but they are the same 25 seconds repeated over and over again in a time loop. This means you can reverse the death of your teammates and even turn around a losing match. Hence, every move, position, and shot is crucial.

Next-generation shooter 

Unlike other first-person shooter games, Lemnis Gate provides unique game modes that you can enjoy with your friends. There are four modes: Retrieve XM, Domination, Death Match, and Seek and Destroy. Retrieve XM is their version of capture the flag, where players will compete to capture exotic modules or XM. Domination involves capturing the majority of particle accelerators, the team who gets the most, wins.

Meanwhile, Death Match mode is the game’s FPS staple, where you head out and face off against other opponents. Lastly, Seek and Destroy is a defend and attack game mode where one team attacks and the other team defends two objectives. However, each game mode can only be played in either 1v1 or 2v2 match types. Players can also play online and match up with players in similar skill levels.

One of the best features of the game is its offline mode, where you can play on a couch with your friends and pass the controller back and forth for each turn. However, the game is very heavy on animation and detailed graphics, so it doesn’t have support for 32-bit processors and operating systems. Other than that, the game is fast-paced, extremely out of the ordinary, and highly enjoyable.

Every move matters

Lemnis Gate is a challenging game that pushes its players to plan ahead and make tactical decisions to win a match. You can play both online and offline in four different gameplay modes, all of which are unique, but equally thrilling. The off-world quarry sites, characters, and immersive special effects, however, are especially heavy on graphics, so you need at least a 64-bit system to play the game.
