Tamazight is one of the Central African languages, with a total of about 13,000,000 speakers, and is the official language of Chad, Morocco and Mauritania. It is spoken chiefly by Tamazig, a sub-group of the Tadjika group of peoples, who live in northern Chihuahua, northern Sierra de las Nieves, southern Sierra de las Nieves, northern Sierra de las Manzanas and northern Morocco.

Tamazight is a language of the Cahuilla group of languages, which also includes Chichewa and English.
