In India, the KVPY program is a national-level scholarship/fellowship program that is conducted by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) to promote and encourage students who are dedicated to pursuing a career in science. The program offers students an opportunity to learn advanced scientific concepts, which are the core topics of the students' research projects. The program is designed to help students gain knowledge and skills to become successful scientists.

In order to be eligible for KVPY, students must be enrolled in a science course at a high school or university. Students who are not yet eligible for KVPY can apply for the program by completing a short application form. Once they are selected, they receive a KVPY scholarship, which is paid to them monthly.
