The farmers who offer their products on this app live in high Andean zones considered by the FAO as Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (SIPAM) and have saved over 70 native species of Peru. This initiative was made possible through the joint efforts of the Ministry of Environment (MINAM), the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI), the FAO, and Profonanpe, Peru's environmental fund. The funding comes from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) through its GEF Agrobiodiversity-SIPAM Project, in partnership with the Peruvian Association of Consumers and Users (ASPEC).
