The KuLA (Kuzushiji Learning Application) is an educational application for learners of Japanese language, in which the letters of the alphabet are replaced by the characters of the Japanese language. The purpose of the application is to help the users learn to read the characters.

It is developed with a focus on learners who have already started learning the Japanese language, in order to help them to become better readers. The application is divided into three main sections.

In the first section, the user can test his or her progress by trying to read the kuzushiji that he or she has learned.

The second section is for practicing the kuzushiji that the user has learned. In this section, the user can practice reading the kuzushiji in the context of an image from a book that was published in the Edo period.

The third section is for socializing with other users.
