Mark Manson is an American author, motivational speaker, and radio host. He is best known for his book The Art of Not Giving Back: Living an Unconventional Life, which discusses the concepts of social status, personal identity, and human behavior.

Manson was born in California and grew up in a conservative Christian household. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from San Francisco State University, and a PhD in Humanistic Psychology from Yale University.
