If you’ve played The Nom before, you will notice that Kraken Invasion: RPG Idle is highly similar to it. They basically employ the same mechanics while having different premises—devour all humans in the way and unload them back at the base. However, instead of wreaking havoc in a science lab, you will be causing chaos on an island.

Thanks to its fun 3D graphics and uncomplicated gameplay, this free arcade game will be a great way to alleviate boredom. If you’re looking for a casual title to pass the time, Kraken Invasion is a good pick to try out.

Eat the humans and buy upgrades

Kraken Invasion: RPG Idle has a large map to explore, with various portions locked until the player reaches certain levels. To make progress, you have to consume humans and unload them back at the base once the cargo bar fills up. Each group of people has a different in-game currency yield, and the higher the number, the longer it takes to catch them.

There are upgrades you can purchase to hasten your progress, such as widening the catch radius or speeding up the movement of the Kraken and the rate at which it consumes humans. You can also expand the cargo bar, so you don’t have to come back to the base frequently. Plus, you can buy another tentacle or two, making catching people quicker and more efficient.

In spite of all of that, however, leveling up is still tricky as there are massive jumps between level requirements. You can go up from level one to two quite easily, but going from two to three will be significantly harder, as will the subsequent levels. Getting back to the base also takes longer the further you explore the map as you can’t establish new ones.

Simple yet hooking premise

With its addictive gameplay and straightforward controls, Kraken Invasion: RPG Idle is a must-try if you’re looking for a new arcade game. In it, you just need to drag the big octopus monster around the island and devour all humans that stand in your way. Also, make sure that you won’t forget to buy upgrades as strategically as possible to maximize their effects.
