Kong: Survivor Instinct is an action game. It is a 2.5D adventure game set in the chaotic aftermath of Godzilla vs. Kong. As an oil rig worker named David, you must navigate a city torn apart by massive Titan battles, all while searching for your missing daughter, Stacy.

The gameplay of Kong: Survivor Instinct is a mix of realistic platforming challenges, combat sequences, and metroidvania-style exploration. As David, you’ll scavenge for resources, solve environmental puzzles, and use whatever tools you can find to navigate collapsing buildings, toxic leaks, and raging fires. The threat of the Titans looms constantly, and although they are terrifying, you can use Monarch technology to influence their behavior, creating opportunities to survive.  

Your journey will also lead you to encounter fellow survivors, adding depth to the emotional weight of the story. Its setting, inspired by the Monsterverse, puts players face to face with Kong and other Titans, offering breathtaking visuals of massive creatures destroying the city. You’ll face off against mercenaries led by the returning villain Alan Jonah. The combination of human enemies and Titan encounters keeps the gameplay dynamic and engaging.  

The survival aspect is heightened by the need to manage limited resources while avoiding deadly encounters with both human and monstrous threats. The narrative-driven adventure makes you feel the desperation of a father trying to reunite with his daughter amid the destruction. However, the difficulty might be frustrating for casual players. There is also limited character customization or upgrade options.
