Kirkuk TV, by Avesta Group for Information Technology, is the official Android app for the Kirkuk satellite television channel that connects viewers with regional affairs. The app delivers live broadcasts, real-time news updates, political talk shows and on-demand cultural, economic, and sports reports directly to mobile devices. It supports Arabic and Kurdish languages, uses a lightweight design optimized for mobile networks, and receives regular security and performance updates. The primary audience is residents of Kirkuk, the Kurdistan region, and the diaspora who follow regional media.

What is the app used for?

The app serves as the official mobile gateway for the Kirkuk satellite channel, sending live streaming and scheduled programming to Android devices. It publishes real-time news updates and political talk shows alongside on-demand cultural, economic, and sports reports. Content is available in Arabic and Kurdish, and the app positions itself as a direct channel between the station and viewers who need timely, region-focused coverage.

How private are your interactions in the app?

The developer's data safety declaration states the app does not collect or share user data with third parties, a clear privacy claim included in the available information. The app also receives regular updates aimed at improving security and compatibility with newer Android versions. Users should note that no further technical details about metadata retention or specific encryption schemes are provided in the public declarations.

Does the app work across different devices?

The app is designed for Android and lists compatibility starting at Android 5.0 and up, so its distribution is tied to the Android ecosystem rather than multiple operating systems. Its lightweight design is described as optimized for streaming over mobile networks, which suits lower-bandwidth mobile connections. The app's Play Store presence, with over 100,000 downloads, indicates an established install base among Android users in the region.

Practical choice for region-focused mobile viewers

The app is a practical option for Kurdish- and Arabic-speaking audiences who need direct mobile access to regional broadcasts and commentary. Its Android-only availability limits reach among users on other platforms, an important consideration for diaspora viewers who use non-Android devices. The app suits mobile-first audiences in and around Kirkuk who prefer a single, official channel for news and cultural programming.
