Kifu Master: Go Game Database is a free game-recording app developed by Gote Sensei for the board game Go (also known as Baduk or Weiqi) that lets you view and manage game records. It includes a large collection of professional matches for study and allows you to save and review your own games.

Featuring a clean and intuitive design, Kifu Master: Go Game Database lets you explore more than 160,000 professional Go games, with new records added regularly. You can browse matches from top tournaments in Japan, Korea, China, and prestigious international competitions like the LG Cup and Samsung Cup.

Study Go matches

Kifu Master: Go Game Database offers several tools that make studying and reviewing Go games more engaging. One standout feature lets you replay games from memory by entering moves yourself, helping you test what you've learned while tracking your memorization progress. This creates a more interactive learning experience than simply watching professional matches unfold and can be useful for players looking to strengthen their understanding of strategic patterns.

The app also includes a personal library where you can save, organize, and revisit your own game records. Support for importing and exporting SGF files makes it easy to manage matches across different devices and platforms. Features such as Favorites, Recent sections, and offline access help keep your collection organized and accessible. Whether you're reviewing recent games or building a long-term archive, the library tools provide plenty of flexibility.

In addition, the advanced SGF viewer offers adjustable autoplay speeds, customizable board themes, and options to show or hide coordinates for a tailored viewing experience. Multi-language support broadens accessibility, while direct communication with the solo developer encourages community feedback and improvements. However, although the free version provides a useful introduction to the app, several features remain restricted unless you subscribe to the Premium plan.

A valuable Go player companion

Kifu Master: Go Game Database is a valuable companion for Go players who want to study professional matches, organize personal game records, and improve their skills through interactive learning tools. The extensive database, advanced SGF viewer, and flexible library features make it useful for casual players and dedicated competitors. It continues to grow with regular updates and community feedback, though some of its most useful features require a Premium subscription.
