The Jewish Bible, also known as the Jewish Tanakh or the Hebrew Bible, is a religious text consisting of the original Hebrew writings, the Aramaic version, and the Greek translation, which forms the basis of most contemporary Christian Bibles. It is regarded by the Jewish Orthodox Church as the central religious text of Judaism, the other major Jewish religious group, and by most Christians as the primary sacred text of Christianity.

It is divided into two parts, the Biblical Text and the Writings. The biblical text contains the original Hebrew text as well as the Aramaic and Greek translations of the Bible, and is arranged in a religious and chronological order. The Writings include the epistles of Paul, Peter, John, and others, and the prophetic books. The Jewish Bible has a division into several parts, which are known as books. It also contains the book of Numbers, the Book of Deuteronomy, and the Book of Joshua.

There is also a special section of the Jewish Bible called the Haftarim. The word Haftarim is derived from a Hebrew word which means "a rend" or "a division." The division into Haftarim is based on the division of the Biblical text into smaller sections. The divisions are known as Parashat, Sura, and Da shira.
