Jeevan Pramaan is a free online reference mobile app that allows you to claim your pension without falling in line. This biometric authentication digital service is a project by the Government of India for its pensioners which allows them to register their Digital Life Certificate without having to physically visit any pension disbursing agency. This program is also available on PC but both versions need a biometrics scanner to work.

How do you get a life certificate on the mobile app?

To start off, you need to download Jeevan Pramaan from the service’s official website using your mobile device. Go to the Download section, provide your email address, enter the captcha, and tap “I Agree to Download.” You’ll get an OTP email message so enter that to get another email containing the download link. Choose “Mobile App Download” to get the app.

Do note, however, that you will need a biometrics fingerprint or iris scanner to be able to use the app, as it uses the Aadhaar Platform for online biometric authentication—the 12-digit unique identity number in India. Once everything’s set up, though, you can now run the app and input the necessary information like your Aadhaar number, mobile number, bank account, and more. 

After successfully authenticating, you’ll get an SMS sent to your mobile number for confirmation and this includes your Jeevan Pramaan Certificate ID. Your life certificate will now be available online and can be easily accessed by you and any Pension Disbursing Agency. You can also download a PDF copy of it from the official website by simply using your Jeevan Pramaan ID.

Can’t work alone

Jeevan Pramaan is definitely a convenient app to use in order to avoid physically going to locations, especially if you can no longer do so. However, you still need to get another device just to be able to use it and this can be another kind of problem for you. Nevertheless, this is the best way to submit your life certificate online.
