Japji Sahib is a daily Sikh prayer in the Gurmukh and Punjabi language. This prayer was composed by the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The first pauris (stanzas) and the last salok (salutation) of this prayer are in the Gurmukh language. The Japji Sahib Path is the complete text of this prayer in the Gurmukh language. The mantra opens the first pauris, which is followed by 38 pauris (stanzas). This composition ends with the last salok.

The Sikhs regard Japji Sahib to be one of the most significant Bani, or "collection of verses." It is the first Bani in the line of ten Sikh Gurus. The last pauris of Japji Sahib ends with a salok to God.
